Texans May Not Need Government Foreclosure Assistance |

Texas is not one of the states hit hardest by the home foreclosure meltdown but they are working hard to keep those who do face such situations in their homes. According to news from the chron.com, the Texas Senate is proposing legislation, which would give distressed homeowners 45 days to solve financial problems before lenders could start the foreclosure process. At the moment, Texans only have twenty days to solve late mortgage payments before lenders can take action. Twenty days just isn’t enough leading to government foreclosure assistance. Most people are paid every 14 days. Giving homeowners 45 days to get caught up means at least three paychecks in the bank which is a huge difference from just one.
As of right now the twenty-day rule makes Texas one of the quickest foreclosure notice states in the country as stated by www.chron.com. The bill has passed the state senate and will move to the house. Texans will not need as much government foreclosure assistance with this move. I still recommend researching the government foreclosure program if you are nearing late mortgage payments.
