Seeking Government Foreclosure Assistance |

It only makes sense there is government help to stop foreclosure proceedings when looking at the billions of dollars already spent to help out failing investment, banking and automotive companies. Like the companies who received bailout money, homeowners on the verge of defaulting must ask for help. There are programs and monies set aside to help struggling homeowners but they are not exactly advertised. It is never easy to get free help from the government but it is there for the people who take the time to jump through all the bureaucratic hoops.
The best time to seek government foreclosure assistance is in the beginning. Once a person is late on a couple months of mortgage payments and does not see being able to make up for it down the road then it is time to ask for help. Waiting until the foreclosure notice is stamped on the front door is too late. Look at how long everything else federal takes; a government foreclosure program will also take a lot of time. Mortgage lenders generally have most answers to what is possible for individual foreclosure situations.
